Jeremiah 10

Day 11: Jeremiah 10:1-25
No one is like You, Lord; You are great, and Your name is mighty in power (Jeremiah 10:6, NIV).
What have you put your trust in? Is it in people, money, yourself, your horoscope to tell you what the future holds for you, or is it in God? The irony with the people of Judah is that they were worshipping the very things that God created instead of worshipping Him. It’s easy to get to a place where we look to the things that God has created and we put our trust in them simply because they’re tangible instead of putting it in God. We must understand that anything we put our trust in other than God will always be a counterfeit and it will never produce the results that God can. Instead of looking to everything else for answers, turn to God and allow Him to direct your paths. Jeremiah asked God to show him the way and to discipline him for his own good but he asked that God not do it in His wrath because he understand the power of God (v. 24). God is willing to lead and guide us but we must be willing to move our feet. He will not force Himself onto anyone but He will willingly guide those who want to be guided. However, He cannot do this if we are putting any and everything before Him and seeking out every other source but the Source for answers. In order to be devoted to God we must learn to seek Him wholeheartedly and stop running to other things and people that we have immediate access to. Put your trust in the Creator, not the creations.
